Yesterday, I was honored to be invited to the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Taichung Veterans General Hospital to share with the doctors "Beyond the Bite – Integrating Aesthetic Refinement in Orthognathic Surgery"
Special thanks to Director Cheng Zhisheng and Dr. Tang Yuyin for the invitation and organization.
Orthognathic surgery isn't just about improving bite and function; it also addresses facial proportions, aesthetic details, and the patient's overall quality of life. In this presentation, we delve into how to correct bite while maintaining a natural balance between facial contours and natural harmony. For patients with OSA (sleep apnea), orthognathic surgery can improve sleep apnea and widen the airway, extending treatment beyond the bite itself to enhance both function and aesthetics. The core value of orthognathic surgery isn't just about "a better bite," but also about "a more natural look and a more comfortable life."
